I loved these books so much!

Meihan Boey has written such wonderful stories in an interesting way. The structure of both books feels like serialized old mystery stories. This makes the reading easy and fast. I don’t ever feel like I am missing anything either. The chapters feel like episodes in a short story and the different parts are distinct stories. I love it so much!

Miss Cassidy is very well written. I feel like I can slip into her skin and explore the dense heat and humidity in late 1800s Singapore. Similarly, Madam Ingram is a well developed character, albeit one I don’t identify with as much. I don’t think you need to “be” Madam Ingram to enjoy the book though. Mister Kay is my entrance into the story.
