Big Bad Wolf

Spicy books have a bit of a following to say the least. This book is for those people. I am one of those people.

Fairytale retellings (especially adult retellings) are a pretty sure way to get me to buy a book and I wasn’t disappointed with Big Bad Wolf. Laurie Gilmore leaned into the woman walking alone in the woods with a dangerous wolf. We get the full werewolf shift, the obligatory naked man after said shift, and a lot of feelings from both Rafe and Ruby.

I find that books like Big Bad Wolf don’t take themselves too seriously. There is no meaning behind the color Ruby’s house is painted. No secret meaning or obscure themes. This book and books like it are the dessert of the literature world. Sometimes you need to turn your brain off and just enjoy a fun story. A fun spicy story.

The only reason I knocked this book down a star is that it doesn’t wow me with how it is written. This might be an unfair thing to do, because I don’t really expect to be wowed verbally with romance books. I just want a good story.
