About Moss’d in Space
USA Today Bestselling author Rebecca Thorne delights in a brand new cozy sci-fi romance series for fans of Martha Wells.
This beautiful trade paper edition features French flaps with exquisite original art on the inside front and back cover!
Torian Razner finally bought a starship, and contrary to Amelia’s assessment, it was not “a meteoric sign of stupidity.” Sure, the alien starship may have been abandoned for a century, and it may be covered in moss now… but it’s Torian’s ticket to freedom, regardless of what her ex… ah, captain… said.
Except Torian’s first flight reveals a surprise passenger: the moss is actually an organic computer with a snarky attitude and serious abandonment issues. The target of its loathing? The immortal alien who built it (and then parked the starship, with Moss inside, and forgot about it). The same alien who just found Torian and accused her of “stealing” the ship.
It’s entirely possible that Amelia was right about this meteoric stupidity.
Moss’d in Space
I need cozy sci-fi to be a thing.
Moss’d in Space is such a good introduction to this trilogy. The book is fast paced, doesn’t linger on sad/dark things (this 1. helps the pace and 2. keeps the book cozy), and has an almost non-existent romance between Torian and her old ship’s captain. This is just the begining of the story.
I think that because the book is so quick, it can seem like not much is going on (this is also because there are very few action sequences). There is a TON going on though. We meet MOSS, go on a trip to save Torian’s sister, Torian and MOSS break down in space-twice, and they accidentally find an entire space station that humans didn’t know existed. And that is just the first half of the book!
Even though the pacing is fast, the book never seems to lack anything. I didn’t even realize that we were moving so quickly because I was enamoured with Moss.
Thorne has created such a wonderful world that I cannot wait for book 2.
Please go preorder or reserve the book at your library so that I can get more cozy sci-fi!
